NYFF Press/Industry Information

The Film Society of Lincoln Center offers a Press/Industry screening of each film selected for The New York Film Festival, followed, in many instances, by a press conference with the principals of the film. The Press/Industry screenings have two primary functions: to generate media coverage of The New York Film Festival itself and to preview work available for programming and acquisition. These weekday Press/Industry screenings are closed to the general public. There is no fee involved.

Accreditation, offered to qualified members of the Press and Industry, allows free entry to Press/Industry Screenings. Accreditation does NOT allow access to New York Film Festival Public Screenings.

The NYFF Press/Industry Screening Schedule will be available early September. Press screenings begin Monday, September 18. The 2006 New York Film Festival runs September 29 to October 15.

From September 18 to 28, all Press/Industry screenings will be at the Walter Reade Theater, 165 W. 65th St./plaza level. Beginning Friday, September 29, screenings will also be held at Alice Tully Hall, entrance on the north side of 65th Street just west of Broadway.

Before certain screenings, a stand-by line will form outside. Although we do our best to accommodate everyone, seating is not guaranteed, but, in most instances, stand-bys are admitted. Arrival at least 15 to 30 minutes in advance is advised. In the event of overcrowding, priority may be given to members of the press.

Beginning on September 18 and for the duration of the Press/Industry Screenings, we will maintain a Press/Industry Office in the Walter Reade Theater’s Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery to provide information and press materials for the films in The New York Film Festival. NYFF Press/Industry Office Phones will be: 212-875-5602 / 212-875-5603 / 212-875-5604, weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm.

Once the NYFF Press/Industry screenings begin on September 18, we will provide a 24-hour recorded “Hotline” you can call for up-to-the-minute changes and updates on press screenings and press conferences. The Hotline number will be 212-875-5605.

Please Note
1. All passes will bear the holder’s I.D. photo, name, and affiliation.
2. All passes are non-transferable and admit one person only — the authorized bearer.
3. No guests are allowed.
4. No blank passes will be admitted to press screenings.
5. Wear your passes on the lanyards provided to facilitate entry to the theaters.
6. Passes are NOT valid for New York Film Festival public screenings.
