These New York Film Festival events will take place in the Kaplan Penthouse, Rose Building ~ 10th floor, west 65th Street between Broadway & Amsterdam Avenues on the plaza level.

Admission: $16

Ticket Availability: After the 29th check online or at the Alice Tully box office for ticket availability to sold out shows. Standby lines will form before each show.

Student Rush: Depending on availability, $10 tickets go on sale day of performance only. Valid, current student ID required. Limit one ticket per student.

With The Queen, Stephen Frears makes his first visit to the New York Film Festival since The Snapper in 1993. One of Britain’s most provocative directors, he is equally at home making films in the UK and the USA. Frears will discuss his favorite themes, his influences, and what it’s like to move between the world of low budget indies and Hollywood.

He has been making documentaries on many subjects, while also directing award-winning feature films. How does he work differently within each form, and where does he reckon documentary films are headed?
