12 Years a Slave won Best Picture at the 2014 Academy Awards Sunday night, while Gravity filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón won Best Director Sunday night in Los Angeles. NYFF honoree Cate Blanchett won Best Actress, while Matthew McConaughey won Best Actor. And Italy's The Great Beauty won Best Foreign Film while 20 Feet from Stardom won Best Doc.
