On this week’s episode of our podcast, Julie Delpy discusses her approach to comedy, drawing from her 30-plus years of experience on both sides of the camera.  To hear more insightful conversations like this one, subscribe to The Close-Up on iTunes, and if you like what you hear, leave us a review!

Delpy is one of contemporary French cinema’s great renaissance talents: she’s an accomplished writer, director, actor, and composer. Her latest comedy, Lolo, had its New York premiere in our Rendez-Vous with French Cinema festival and, before its first screening, Delpy joined us for one of our Free Talks, which are sponsored by HBO. The conversation was moderated by Film Society programmer Florence Almozinini, and in it Delpy talked about moving from acting in dramas to directing comedies, working with Jean-Luc Godard, and her aspirations to perform stand-up comedy.
