Welcome to 2017. If you received the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s new programming brochure in the mail, or picked one up in our theaters, you may notice things look a little different. We’ve moved from a bimonthly publication to a quarterly. Why did we make the decision to do this? To give you, our devoted viewers and members, a better scope of the kinds of programming you can see further in advance, and also to make sure you have the timeliest and most correct information as we move forward into the year. Inside you’ll see the wide array of new releases, series, festivals, and events that we offer from the start of the New Year to the end of March, including some of the most popular annual programs we present all year, including the New York Jewish Film Festival, Dance on Camera Festival, Film Comment Selects, Rendez-Vous with French Cinema, and New Directors/New Films. For more information on those series and some others, including specific dates and times of individual films, we’ll be offering individual programs with in-depth information—and of course you can always keep up with our schedule on our website and our Film Society App.

With this new quarterly publication, we are also pleased to give you more engaging editorial content, including personal essays from filmmakers and critics, and appreciations of directors. In this issue, for instance, you can read an original essay by Moonlight director Barry Jenkins on his influences, an appreciation of the recently deceased Polish cinema legend Andrzej Wajda by the internationally beloved filmmaker Agnieszka Holland, and an essay considering the many cinematic interpretations of Wuthering Heights. We feel that going to the movies at Film Society of Lincoln Center should be a cinematic experience you can take with you after you leave the theater.

Above you’ll find some sample pages from the new brochure. Below, we’ve embedded a handy flipbook version and you can also download it as a PDF. We encourage you to grab a copy next time you’re at our theaters to get the full experience. We hope you enjoy it, and we hope to see you at the movies all year long!

Sincerely,

Your friends at the Film Society of Lincoln Center
