With the opening of the Film Society’s Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center upon us, here’s a chance to look inside the construction of the building, via the work of acclaimed indie filmmaker Jamie Stuart.

Last winter, New York City based filmmaker Stuart braved a particularly harsh blizzard to create a short film that has since become a viral sensation. Seen and praised by hundreds of thousand viewers around the world, “Man in a Blizzard” was hailed by Roger Ebert as a worthy contender for an Academy Award in its category. The video’s success put the filmmaker on demand and made him an obvious choice for us at the Film Society of Lincoln Center to produce a series of short pieces documenting the conception and construction of our brand new Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.

We’re rolling out the videos throughout the next week as we approach the launch of the center with a weekend of free events open to the public. The first video in the series, “under construction,” offers a unique inside look into the realization of the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s new state-of-the-art multi-screen center.
