ND/NF 2011 film and the Jury Prize Winner of Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Daniel and Diego Vega’s Octubre will open for limited release on May 6 at Lincoln Plaza and Angelika Film Center. Named after the month of October, which is known as the “purple month” in Lima for celebrating the “Lord of Miracles,” Octubre focuses on a low-life loan shark whose life is suddenly changed by an unexpected present.
In a review of the film, Variety said “the Vegas' expressionist style, restrained emotional palette and delicate humor herald the arrival of promising young talents.”
