indieWIRE broke the news that Film Movement has acquired the North American rights to King of Devil's Island, the opening night film of the Film Society of Lincoln Center's The Far Side of Paradise: New Films from Norway. Director Marius Holst and star Stellan SkarsgĂĄrd will be at the screening tonight in person – and tickets are still available!

From the press release: “King of Devil’s Island marks the sixth Norwegian film in our catalog in the past eight years, and we couldn’t be more delighted to continue supporting the fresh and diverse cinema from this fertile country. Stellan Skarsgard’s acting in this film is as powerful as ever, but the real treat is the ferociously raw performances by the mostly non-professional teens. We are extremely excited to share this stirring film with our audiences,” says Rebeca Conget, VP of Acquisitions and Distribution.

If you can't make it tonight, Holst will present our second screening on Saturday, April 30 at the Walter Reade Theater. Check out the rest of our Norwegian films here.
