Opening Night of the 50th New York Film Festival has arrived!

Academy Award winner Ang Lee kicks off the 17-day festival tonight with his visionary 3D adaptation of Yann Martel's Man Booker Prize-winning bestseller Life of Pi. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. This year's Main Slate comprises a total of 33 acclaimed films, from the Palme d'Or-winning Amour from Michael Haneke to the Golden Bear-winning Caesar Must Die by Italian filmmaking brothers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani.

We're proud that all 33 of these films make an appearance (or more than one in many cases) in the official trailer for the 50th NYFF! The trailer was put together by the amazing folks at Kinetic Trailerworks, who took home a Golden Trailer Award for their work on last year's festival. If you haven't watched it yet, now's the time:

Pretty great, right? We're so excited about this year's trailer that we've decided to create a whole contest surrounding it!

All you have to do is identify as many of the clips used, in order, and send your guesses to [email protected] by Friday, October 12 at midnight. The person who gets the most right will win a killer NYFF prize pack including: two tickets to the Closing Night screening of Robert Zemeckis' Flight starring Denzel Washington, a 50th New York Film Festival poster designed by Cindy Sherman, a copy of a very special and beautiful new book (we'll let you know more about that soon), and an NYFF messenger bag stuffed with festival SWAG! In the case of a tie, we'll randomly choose a winner from among the top entries.

Easy, right? So fire up your brain, watch the trailer a few (dozen) times—the pause button is sure come in handy—and send us your entries!
