The opening days of the 54th New York Film Festival were so packed, one slideshow of photos wasn’t enough to cover it! The weekend continued with a red carpet, screening, and Q&A for the highly anticipated New York premiere of Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight as well as the world premiere of the documentary Hamilton’s America.

Rounding out the weekend were screenings from our Spotlight on Documentary section and Shorts Programs, most with filmmakers in person for Q&As. There were also a host of free talks sponsored by HBO as part of Directors Dialogues, Meet the Makers, and NYFF Live, along with experiences, installations, and panels from our interactive Convergence programs.

The 54th New York Film Festival runs September 30 – October 16 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Stay tuned to our blog for even more photos, podcasts, and videos throughout the festival!
