On this week’s podcast, you’ll hear a conversation with the director and stars of Little Men, which opens here at the Film Society on Friday, followed by a talk with Paul Greengrass from the 51st New York Film Festival in 2013. Greengrass’s latest film, Jason Bourne, is now in theaters. Subscribe to The Close-Up on iTunes so you never miss an episode. If you like what you hear, leave us a review!

Little Men is a portrait of a friendship and family directed by New York–based filmmaker Ira Sachs (Love Is Strange, Keep the Lights On). Observed with his trademark humanism and insight, the film is a sophisticated story about displacement and class. The director joined stars Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Ehle last week to discuss Little Men at one of our Free Talks, which are sponsored by HBO. The evening was moderated by Nigel Smith of The Guardian

British director Paul Greengrass followed critical acclaim for his 2002 Irish civil rights drama Bloody Sunday with commercial success via his work on the Bourne series. He received an Academy Award nomination in 2006 for his 9/11 drama United 93, and his latest, Jason Bourne, is now in theaters. The director joined us at the 51st New York Film Festival back in 2013, where his Captain Phillips had its world premiere on Opening Night. Shortly after the premiere, Greengrass joined NYFF Director Kent Jones for one of our HBO Directors Dialogues.
