In anticipation of the premiere of Pedro Almodóvar’s Julieta at the 54th New York Film Festival, listen to a conversation with the director from the 49th edition of the festival in 2011. NYFF54 begins Friday and runs through October 16, also featuring new movies by Jim Jarmusch, Kelly Reichardt, Paul Verhoeven, and more.

Many of Almodóvar’s most beloved films had their American premieres here, including Talk to Her, Volver, and The Skin I Live In. The director discusses the latter on this week’s edition of our podcast. The conversation comes from one of the first in our now annual tradition of free NYFF Live talks in the Amphitheater of the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center. Every day throughout the festival, starting at 7:00pm, we’ll be bringing you panel discussions, talks with the directors and stars of this year’s selections, and more . . . all for free!
