Directed by Lorene Scafaria (Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World), The Meddler stars Sarandon as Marnie, a widow with eternal optimism and generosity who moves to L.A. to be near her daughter, Lori (Rose Byrne). When Lori shuts her out, Marnie must find other ways to channel her boundless exuberance.

In a recent Free Talk, sponsored by HBO, Sarandon joined Film Society Executive Director Lesli Klainberg to talk about The Meddler as well as her relationship to New York, the independent film scene, and her memories of David Bowie.
