Lee Daniels' The Butler will open the Mumbai Film Festival October 17, launching the event's lineup of over 200 films from 65 countries.

Mumbai's World Cinema lineup includes a number of titles having their U.S. debuts at the New York Film Festival including Abdellatif Kechiche's Cannes winner Blue is the Warmest Color, as well as Ethan and Joel Coen's Inside Llewyn Davis, James Gray's The Immigrant, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The section will also feature Paul Schrader's The Canyons, which had its World Premiere in July at Film Society in addition to recent Toronto opener The Fifth Estate by Bill Condon and Jean-Marc Vallée's Dallas Buyers Club.

Thirteen films will screen in the festival's international competition including Cannes Camera d'Or winner Ilo Ilo, Paul Wright's For Those in Peril, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Don Jon and the sole Indian entry, Fandry, by Nagraj Manjule.

Additionally Mumbai will spotlight films from Afghanistan, Spain and Cambodia in addition to the festivals's sixth version of the Rendez-vous with French Cinam.

As announced earlier, Greek-French director Costa-Gavras will be the recipient of a lifetime honor and the fest will feature a retrospective of his work including Oscar winning political drama, Z.
