My Golden Days was the fifth film by Desplechin to screen at the New York Film Festival, and during the festival last fall, the director joined programmer Florence Almozini for one of our free NYFF Live talks, which are sponsored by HBO. The wide-ranging discussion touched on topics like My Golden Days‘s connection to his 1996 feature, My Sex Life…or How I Got Into an Argument, how he began working with actor Mathieu Amalric, and his love of classic cinema.

We’re thrilled to welcome Desplechin back to the Film Society for a comprehensive retrospective of his work leading up to the release of My Golden Days. Golden Days: the Films of Arnaud Desplechin will run March 11-17 with screenings of all nine of his narrative features and the director in person for select screenings.
