On this week’s episode of our podcast, you’ll hear a heartfelt and often hilarious conversation with director Michael Moore, whose latest documentary, Where To Invade Next, had its U.S. premiere at the 53rd New York Film Festival last fall. Subscribe to The Close-Up on iTunes to hear fascinating discussions like this one every week and, if you like what you hear, leave us a review!

Where To Invade Next is Moore’s unique take on a travelogue, in which the director “invades” nine European countries in order to steal their greatest ideas, from humane prison systems in Norway to government-funded colleges in Slovenia. Following its premiere at NYFF, the provocateur joined festival director Kent Jones for one of our HBO Directors Dialogues, where he talked about why he hates the label “documentarian,” how everyday citizens can make a difference, and Hollywood’s ongoing problem with gender and racial inequality.
