Steve McQueen’s highly anticipated second feature Shame, which opened in select markets last Friday and expands to six additional cities today, was one of the biggest hits at this year’s New York Film Festival, generating huge buzz from the crowds and press. Whether it was critics lauding McQueen’s technique or fans swooning over star Michael Fassbender, Shame made a splash at NYFF that is sure to translate to theater-going audiences nationwide.
