Alexander Payne's The Descendants starring George Clooney, which closed the 49th New York Film Festival, opens today in select theaters and across the country next week.
Payne, Clooney, and other actors from the film, including Beau Bridges (pictured), Judy Greer (pictured), Matthew Lillard, Robert Forster, Shailene Woodley (pictured), Amara Miller and Nick Krause, came to NYFF to celebrate, walk the red carpet, and answer questions at a press conference. Payne also participated in our now annual HBO Films “On Cinema” series, where he discussed his influences, process and career with NYFF Program Director Richard Peña in front of a rapt audience in the Walter Reade.
