Bill Morrison’s new film charts the transformation of the fishing camp of the Tr’ochëk Hwëch’in tribe, at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers, into the epicenter of the Yukon gold rush at the turn of the last century. This beautiful trailer and these two clips provide haunting glimpses into a world long past, via moving images from 35mm film prints shipped to Dawson City in the 1910s and 20s.

The transfixing Dawson City: Frozen Time will make its North American Premiere in the Spotlight on Documentary section of the 54th New York Film Festival.
