Laura Poitras, AJ Schnack, and Charlotte Cook unveiled Field of Vision, a series of short films made in collaboration with The Intercept, at the 53rd New York Film Festival last fall. Following the screening, the three took the stage with a group of documentary filmmakers (including Heloisa Passos, Iva Radivojevic, Michael Palmieri, Donal Mosher, and Dustin Guy Defa) to discuss the first batch of work produced by the “visual journalism film unit.”

The event also included installments from Laura Poitras’s new project Risk (formerly titled Asylum), for which she shadowed WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. It was recently announced that Risk will have its World Premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
