Natalia Almada’s Everything Else features a haunting performance from Oscar nominee Adriana Barraza (Babel) as Doña Flor, a bureaucratically dehumanized government clerk. Upon losing the only thing she still cares for, the unsympathetic Doña is forced to come to terms with her past and reawaken to the world around her. Everything Else, Almada’s first fiction film, highlights the resilience of those who persevere despite the corruption and violence that plague Mexico City.

In the clip above, the jaded Doña Flor remains unmoved at the plight of a worker in need. Don’t miss Everything Else, screening in the Explorations section of the 54th New York Film Festival!
