Oliver Laxe’s Mimosas is at once a quest story, a landscape study, and a western. A follow-up to Laxe’s acclaimed You All Are Captains, Mimosas follows a young man tasked with escorting a caravan to safety across the Moroccan desert and Atlas Mountains. In doing so, he appears to have traveled back in time.
Mimosas, which took home the Grand Prize at the 2016 Cannes’ Critics Week, will make its U.S. Premiere in the new Explorations section of this year’s New York Film Festival.
