The Film Society of Lincoln Center is once again teaming with the New York chapter of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to present a free Master Class. On Thursday, December 1, Travis Knight, president and CEO of animation studio LAIKA, will lead a discussion about his work and LAIKA’s ten-year evolution. Knight was lead animator on Coraline (2009), the studio’s first feature, and oversaw the productions of ParaNorman (2012) and The Boxtrolls (2014)—all three of these films were nominated for Academy Awards and BAFTA Awards. His latest film, the critically acclaimed Kubo and the Two Strings (2016), marked his directorial debut.
