Join the Film Society of Lincoln Center and BYkids for a sneak peek of the newest BYkids short film, Being Muslim in New York, made by Faiza Almontaser, a 17-year-old from Brooklyn. Faiza’s family immigrated to the U.S. from Yemen when she was in middle school, and she faced vicious bullying because of her Islamic identity. Mentored by the legendary pioneer of direct cinema, Albert Maysles, Faiza shows us her courageous and inspiring journey from victim to activist. Screening to be followed by a panel.
