In Marek Lechki’s critically acclaimed and absorbing debut, thirtysomething dad Michal is called back to his hometown on a business errand only to face entanglements from his past and doubts about his future. When a freak accident strands Michal (Tomasz Kot), he is left to walk through the town and see familiar faces, old haunts, and his estranged father (Ryszard Kotys). Starting the story shortly before Michal’s son is have his first Communion, Lechki’s moodily shot film finds Michal himself going through his own reflective rite of passage.
