Filmmaker John Walter is currently in production on The Earth Moves, a documentary film that follows the final tour of the groundbreaking opera Einstein on the Beach by Robert Wilson, Philip Glass and Lucinda Childs. Join us for a panel discussion with Mr. Walter on preserving the legacy of this historical work. There will also be a sneak peek of some sample footage from the film, which explores the connections between physics, opera, and the human imagination.

Mr. Walter is based in New York City. His first feature-length documentary How to Draw a Bunny won the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2002 and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Documentary. In 2008, he directed and edited Theater of War, a film about Bertolt Brecht that the New York Times called “inspired, inspiring.” He has directed projects for the Independent Film Channel, Sundance Channel, and PBS. Selected editing credits include Amir Bar-Lev’s My Kid Could Paint That (2007) and Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story (2009).
