Jack London is known for his searing outdoor adventures including The Call of the Wild and The Sea-Wolf, inspired in part by his own adventures on the sea and prospecting for gold in the Yukon. While the book White Fang is told from the dog’s point-of-view, the movie enlarges the character of Jack (Ethan Hawke), who saves White Fang from an abusive owner and brings him to the Yukon in search of gold. The pair must endure harsh conditions and danger in this beautiful, suspenseful, adventure tale of the friendship between man and dog co-starring Oscar nominee Klaus Maria Brandauer (Out of Africa) and directed by Randal Kleiser (Grease).
