FAQ

Q: How do I buy tickets?
A: You can buy tickets online, in person at the Alice Tully Hall Box Office, or on the phone. For more information or to buy tickets online, click here.

Q: I am not a member or my membership has lapsed, may I still join and get early access to passes, packages and priority ticket sales?
A: Yes. Please visit the Film Society website to become a Patron Member or General Member today. If you have any questions, please call our member line at 212.875.5620 or our Patron line at 212.875.5630. If you are contemplating becoming a member, we encourage you to do so before the General Public ticket sale begins on September 12. Please be aware that there is a turnaround time in processing memberships and sending ticket information.

Q: I am a Patron/Member and up for renewal in September, how do I insure I get all relevant film festival mailings and notifications?
A: Renew today by calling our member line at 212.875.5620 or our Patron line at 212.875.5630. You may also do so online.

Q: I bought a pass or subscription, now what?
A: Congratulations! A pass or subscription is a great way to take advantage of all that the New York Film Festival has to offer.

However, you aren't done yet. Patrons, Members, and General Public who purchase a subscription have the opportunity to choose the films they wish to see (as opposed to blind subscriptions in previous years). You will receive an email with a secure link and personal access code that will allow you to log on and fulfill your pass or subscription. Patrons may contact the Film Society’s Patron Office. Passes/subscriptions that are not fulfilled by purchasers before picking up their tickets will receive screening vouchers for the festival to use as they see fit.

Q: I purchased a pass or subscription but did not receive an email with information about how to make a ticket selection or purchase individual tickets. What do I do now?
A: If you are a Member, please email [email protected]. For General Public inquiries, please email [email protected].

Q:  Once I login to make my ticket selection to fulfill my pass or package, will I be able to login again to make changes or additional selections?
A: No. You must make your selection AT ONE TIME, IN ONE SESSION. Seat selection is on a best available basis. You will have 60 minutes to complete your transaction. You will not be able to re-enter the site and make changes or additions to your pass selections after completing your transaction. Please visit the film guide (http://www.filmlinc.com/nyff2011/pages/lineup/) and plan your selections prior to logging in. Because some shows may not be available, we suggest having second choice screenings to select. If you are unable to fulfill your pass in one session, you will be issued vouchers for your unfulfilled tickets that can be redeemed at the Alice Tully Hall box office. Please note a voucher is not a ticket, you must redeem the voucher in advance to attending a screening.

Q: During the Member Priority Period, may I also purchase additional tickets beyond my pass or package?
A: If you wish to purchase additional tickets, you will need to follow the link for individual ticket selection and use the login and password that was emailed to you.

Q: As a Patron, I'm entitled to tickets to opening night/closing night.  How do I get those tickets?
A: Separate invitations will be emailed AND sent via regular post closer to the event.  These invitations will have specific instructions about how to RSVP to insure you get the tickets you need.

Q: I bought a Cinephile Pass. May I use it to select 2 tickets to 5 films for myself and someone else?
A: Yes. You can select up to 4 tickets for any single film.

Q: I bought Tully Subscription A, do I get to go to the opening night party?
A: No. This subscription offers you a ticket to the opening night screening. The opening night party is available to all Platinum, Gold and Silver pass holders and by invitation only.

Q: I bought Tully Subscription A. Do I get to choose a ticket for the early or late Opening Night screening?
A: Yes. There will be very few tickets available for the late screening.

Q: I bought Tully Subscription B. Do I get to choose a ticket for the early or late Centerpiece and Closing Night screening?
A: Yes. There will be very few tickets available for the late screening.

Q: Where and when can I pick up my tickets?
A: Ticket orders fulfilled 10 days or more in advance of your screening will be mailed out. All other advance orders will be available for pickup at the Alice Tully Hall Box Office. Tickets picked up on the day of a screening will be available at the venue where the screening takes place. You will need to present your order number, the credit card used for the purchase, and/or a printout of your receipt email. Also, for members please be prepared to show your Film Society membership card or other valid identification.

Q: When are press and industry screenings?
A: Press and industry screenings will begin after September 12 for accredited individuals. The deadline for accreditation has already passed.
