Guy Maddin and collaborators Evan and Galen Johnson deliver an anarchic cine-essay on the nature of spectacle, violence, and Canadianness in cinema.
Given carte blanche by Canadian director Paul Gross to produce an anything-goes behind-the-scenes look at the shooting of his Afghanistan war movie, Hyena Road, Guy Maddin enlisted his regular collaborators Evan and Galen Johnson and delivered Bring Me the Head of Tim Horton, an anarchic cine-essay on the nature of spectacle, violence, and Canadianness in cinema.
Guy Maddin and Evan Johnson’s new feature The Forbidden Room is screening in the NYFF53 Main Slate.
Free screenings on loop in the Elinor Bunin Munroe Amphitheater on September 28 and 29 from 12:00-6:00pm and 8:30-11:00pm.
