PRESENTERS SET TO HONOR ROB REINER AS RECIPIENT OF
THE 41st CHAPLIN AWARD

New York, NY (March 24, 2014) – The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the initial list of presenters set for the upcoming 41st Chaplin Award Gala honoring Academy Award nominee Rob Reiner, on the evening of April 28th at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. Celebration of the beloved filmmaker’s career will feature film and interview clips culminating in the presentation of The Chaplin Award by Martin Scorsese.

The evening’s proceedings will also include appearances by Billy Crystal, Michael Douglas, Michael McKean, and Robin Wright. In addition, the Film Society of Lincoln Center will screen some of the honoree’s most celebrated films on Sunday, April 27 and Monday, April 28, leading up to the Gala itself. Those films will include classic Reiner-directed titles A Few Good Men, Misery, The Princess Bride, and Stand by Me. For ticketing and additional information, go to filmlinc.com.

The Chaplin Award Gala is the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s most significant fundraiser of the year. Tickets to the Gala Tribute are now on sale. Tickets to the Rob Reiner film series, taking place on April 27 and 28, go on sale April 3 and feature special ticket prices: $10 General Public and $7 Students, Seniors (62+), and Film Society members. The Film Society’s Annual Gala began in 1972 and honored Charlie Chaplin who returned to the US from exile to accept the commendation. Other honorees include many of the film industry’s most notable talents, including Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, Laurence Olivier, Federico Fellini, Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Davis, James Stewart, Robert Altman, Martin Scorsese, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Michael Douglas, Sidney Poitier, Catherine Deneuve, and, most recently, Barbra Streisand.
