FOURTH YEAR WITH DAILY RADIO SHOW FROM SUNDANCE
FILM FESTIVAL, FILM SOCIETY’S DAILY BUZZ

NEW YORK, NY (January 15, 2014) — The Film Society of Lincoln Center will kick off its daily radio program tomorrow from the 2014 Sundance Film Festival called the Daily Buzz. Building on the success of The Daily Buzz at Sundance, Cannes and SXSW in recent years, the Film Society will continue to take the program to other festivals throughout the year. The on-going initiative is aimed to bring the latest news and hot topics of each festival to listeners across the country.  For those that can’t make it to these noteworthy festivals, the Film Society is helping bring them a piece of the action!

“Back for our fourth year, The Daily Buzz cuts through the clutter to deliver an hour of daily interviews and buzz from Sundance,” said the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Director of Digital Strategy, Eugene Hernandez. “We aim to highlight the films we think our listeners will want to know about, showcasing up and coming filmmakers as well as seasoned industry insiders and critics.”

The daily radio show will be recorded from the Chase Sapphire On Main Lounge and Microsoft’s Lounge, 1MSQFT in Park City at 6pm MST, from Thursday, January 16 to Friday, January 24. The show will be hosted by the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Director of Digital Strategy, Eugene Hernandez and will be presented locally in association with Salt Lake City public radio station KCPW (88.3FM/105.3FM), via streaming on KCPW.org, and will be available on the Film Society's website, www.filmlinc.com and as an iTunes podcast. Sponsors of the show this year include Soyombo Vodka, SkullCandy, Cloud Electronics, and Sabra Hummus.

Guests scheduled to appear include attending Film Society programmers as well as noted filmmakers: Gregg Araki (White Bird in a Blizzard), Joe Berlinger (Whitey), Steve James (Life Itself/Hoop Dreams), Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Phillip), Andrew Rossi (Ivory Tower), Ira Sachs (Love is Strange), Martha Stephens and Aaron Katz (Land Ho), Stephanie Soechtig, Katie Couric and Laurie David (Fed Up), Joe Swanberg (Happy Christmas), Michael Tully (Ping Pong Summer) and many more.  Some of the actors scheduled to appear on the show include, Anne Hathaway, Catherine Keener, John Lithgow, Alfred Molina, Kurt Russell, Mary Steenburgen and George Takei.

Each show begins with a round of hot topics featuring critics and journalists sharing the latest buzz on the movies and deals making waves at the fest. Among those set to weigh in are Brooks Barnes (New York Times), Sean Means (Salt Lake Tribune), Kim Voynar (Movie City News), Eric Kohn (Indiewire), and Dana Harris (Indiewire).

Industry insiders will participate in one-on-one interviews including Arianna Bocco (IFC Films), John Cooper (Sundance Institute), Ira Deutchman (Emerging Pictures/Columbia University), Keri Putnam (Sundance Institute), Dusty Smith (Gravitas Ventures), Tom Quinn (Radius-TWC) and Ryan Werner (Cinetic Media).
