PSA to Combat Global Warming: Train Sponsored by Environmental Defense. Produced by The Ad Council. Created by Ogilvy & Mather ad agency; 2006. “We’ve launched this campaign as a wake-up call,” said Fred Krupp, president of Environmental Defense. “Global warming is the most serious environmental challenge of our time. It is more urgent and its dangers are more fundamental than most Americans realize. This campaign seeks to educate Americans about how quickly we must act, and give concrete steps that people can incorporate into their lives to fight global warming––today.” Dear Friends, The Film Society of Lincoln Center will be initiating a new program at the Walter Reade Theater with screenings of public service announcements showcasing climate change, sustainability and other matters concerning the health of our planet and its inhabitants. We hope to be the first movie theater in the country to regularly screen PSA’s and additionally hope to serve as an example to other theaters to join us. Our first PSA in this ongoing series is on the subject of global warming, utilizing the visceral global warming train ad by the environmental advocacy organization, Environmental Defense.
