Independents Night: Critical Condition
Monday, June 23, 2008 at 6:30 pm

A special presentation in collaboration with the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival. Encore Screenings: Wed Jun 25: 8:45 & Thu Jun 26: 3:30.

What happens when you’re sick and uninsured in America? Award-winning filmmaker Roger Weisberg boldly answers this question in Critical Condition by taking viewers inside the lives and harrowing struggles of a diverse group of uninsured Americans battling critical illness. The film reveals the myriad ways the lack of suitable insurance can cost people not only their health, but their livelihood, homes, savings, and even their lives. It arrives at a decisive moment — the run-up to the 2008 presidential election—when politicians and the public again focus attention on the dire need for healthcare reform in the United States.
