Unfolds like a veritable three-ring circus. ––Premiere A breathtaking docudrama shot entirely on location in Siam (Thailand), Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness (Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack, US, 1927; 67m) is a wonderful experience for the whole family. A simple farmer and his family live on the edge of a jungle, constantly threatened by the wild animals lurking about them. The close-knit family perseveres through it all, until....The climactic elephant stampede in this film, made by the team that went on to create King Kong, is still one of the most exciting moments in cinema history. The evening will feature live accompaniment by The Alloy Orchestra. An ongoing favorite at the Walter Reade, the group has been performing their lively and original scores for silent films for 17 years all over the world.
