The proximity of mortality encourages each to reflect on their lives, to trace their passage from Egypt to Israel, from childhood to adulthood, careers and love lives. Gorgeously photographed (cinematographer Shai Goldman won numerous awards for his work on the film, including the Israeli Oscar), Three Mothers is both the moving chronicle of one family and the saga of so many Sephardim and Mizrahim who re-established their lives in Israel.
