Young Friends of Film: The Ice Storm Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 7:30 pm Admission (includes screening & reception): $25 Young Friends of Film members receive one complimentary ticket. With bad weather approaching and Watergate unfolding in the background, two Connecticut families gather for Thanksgiving. Overcome by emotional distress and overburdened by adultery, sexual experimentation, drug use and petty crime, they’re both in for a long weekend. Based on the Rick Moody novel, James Schamus’ powerful screenplay, a prizewinner at Cannes, is enhanced by Ang Lee’s subtle direction of an exceptional ensemble cast that includes Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Allen, Tobey Maguire, Elijah Wood and Christina Ricci.
