of the legendary Barbra Streisand.

This celebration of Ms. Streisand is the continuation of a 40-year tradition at the Film Society that honors a distinguished film artist whose body of work and lifetime of achievements represent a significant contribution to the art of film. Ms. Streisand, a truly rare and groundbreaking talent, is the first woman artist to receive credit as  writer, director, producer and star of a major feature film (Yentl). She is also the first female film director to receive a Kennedy Center Honor. It is our distinct pleasure to present Ms. Streisand with the prestigious Chaplin Award.

The annual Chaplin Award Gala is the Film Society’s major fundraising event, helping to support the organization’s ongoing work in education, artist development, and cross-cultural film outreach.

Are you interested in attending the Chaplin Award Gala 
but don't have a ticket?

A limited number of Partial View tickets will be available at Avery Fisher
Hall on Monday evening. A line will form in the lobby beginning at 6:30 PM.
Note: Tickets are discounted. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. 

            

6:30 p.m. Arrivals and Welcome Reception
              •  Ticket Pick-Up: If you have not received your tickets already, they will be available for pick-
                 up at Avery Fisher Hall beginning at 6:30pm. Tickets purchased online, at the box office or
                 by phone with CenterCharge may be picked up at the box office Will Call window. There
                 will be a separate Patron Desk for tickets purchased through the Film Society's
                 Development Office and for those attending the dinner.
              •  Welcome Reception: You are cordially invited to join us for cocktails and passed hors
                 d'oeuvres at Avery Fisher Hall, sponsored by Grey Goose Vodka.
              •  SecurityPlease be advised that all attendees and bags may be subject to search upon
                 arrival. Guests should not bring large bags to this events. All bags will be checked at coat
                 check for a fee.

7:30 p.m. Chaplin Award Tribute to Barbra Streisand
The tribute will feature film clips, speeches and show-stopping musical performances by many famed actors, directors and musicians, culminating with the Award presentation to Ms. Streisand by President Bill Clinton.

9:00 p.m. VIP Gala Dinner

Tribute-Only tickets include an invitation to the Welcome Reception and a seat at the highly-anticipated Chaplin Award Tribute. Tickets range in price from $200 – $500.

Chaplin Award

I. Are tickets on sale now?
Yes

II. What is the overall flow of the evening?
The evening’s festivities commence with a champagne reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Gala Tribute program at 7:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the performance, a special supper will be created for dinner guests by Chef Daniel Boulud, followed by dancing.  

III. What is the dress code?
The evening’s attire is black tie.

IV. What are the ticket prices?
Tribute tickets range in price from $175 – $500, and are now on sale. For VIP Gala Dinner information and pricing click here

V. Are tickets tax-deductible?
For Tribute tickets, the face value of each ticket less $150 is tax-deductible.  Please consult your tax advisor as to your individual circumstance with regard to tax deductibility.

VI. How many tickets may I purchase?
Between 1 and 4 tickets may be purchased by an individual ticket-buyer. 

VII. After ordering, when will I receive my tickets?
Tribute tickets will be mailed no later than April 15.  

IX. Who will be performing or presenting at the gala?
President Bill Clinton will present Ms. Streisand with the Chaplin Award at this year’s gala.  Additional presenters include Pierce Brosnan, Blythe Danner, Amy Irving and Kris Kristofferson. In addition, the event will feature show-stopping musical performances by Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis and Liza Minnelli.
