Walter White, “the one who knocks” and TV’s greatest anti-hero, is coming for us in New York! Film Society of Lincoln Center and AMC have partnered to present a celebration of the Emmy Award-winning show Breaking Bad in anticipation of the series’ final 8 episodes.
The weeklong celebration begins on Friday, July 26 with “Long Cook: A Breaking Bad Marathon,” a free, five-day marathon screening of all previous seasons at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center Amphitheater. Then on Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2 series Creator and Executive Producer Vince Gilligan will join stars Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, and Bob Odenkirk for “The Perfect Batch: Breaking Bad Cast Favorites,” a presentation of their favorite episodes with Q&A sessions at the Walter Reade Theater. More information about “The Perfect Batch,” including additional participants and ticket on-sale dates, will be announced soon.
“It is often said that television is in the midst of a golden age, and there is no greater proof of that than Breaking Bad,” said Dennis Lim, Film Society's Director of Cinematheque Programming. “As this most cinematic of shows draws to a close, it seemed more than appropriate for the Film Society to pay tribute to its achievements by presenting every episode to date on the big screen. We are also thrilled to welcome Vince Gilligan and his collaborators to the Walter Reade stage to share their personal highlights from the past five seasons.”
And that’s not all: “Long Cook: A Breaking Bad Marathon” will be free to the public, and anyone attending the marathon will be eligible to participate in a raffle to win a pair of tickets for a special advance premiere screening of the first of the series’ final eight episodes! Better Call Saul, grab some Pollos Hermanos, brush up on your periodic table and get ready to watch some epic television.
