Vinyl. You can't burn it, rip it, or upload it to your mp3 player, but we'll be damned if there isn't something special about it, a rare warmth, an analog soulfulness that's not unlike another endangered substance we also like to revere, celluloid.

We hope you'll take a moment with us to celebrate the good old fashioned record. We want to hear about your favorite albums (vinyl only, please). Wandering around the office, we coaxed this memory from Film Comment staffer Chris Chang:

“My choice for favorite album cover is shameless. The year was 1986. The band was Scornflakes. The lead 'singer' was yours truly. That's me in the center.”

Scornflakes? We want to know, can you top that? Post your vinyl stories, rhapsodize to the record, or link to your favorite album covers below. One comment, one entry.
