Another week, another exciting announcement about this year’s Chaplin Award Gala honoring Morgan Freeman! Celebrated actors Danny Glover and Helen Mirren have been added to the list of presenters, which also includes Robert De Niro and Matthew Broderick. Glover starred in Freeman’s 1993 directorial debut Bopha! and Mirren appeared alongside him in the 2010 smash hit RED.
Taking place Monday, April 25 in Alice Tully Hall, the evening will celebrate the remarkable talent of an actor who has portrayed some of the most memorable characters in film history and applaud his enduring commitment to cinema. The event will be attended by a host of notable guests and will include movie and interview clips culminating in the presentation of the Chaplin Award. The annual Chaplin Award Gala is the Film Society’s largest fundraising event, helping to support the organization’s ongoing work in education, artist development, and cross-cultural film outreach.
