Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac.

Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier's anticipated Nymphomaniac will head to theaters as two separate full length features. Nymphomaniac: Part One will open March 21 (and will be available on demand March 6), while Nymphomaniac: Part Two will debut in theaters April 18 (available on demand April 3).

Part One revolves around Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is discovered badly beaten in an alley by an older bachelor, Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), who takes her into his home. As he tends to her wounds, she recounts the erotic story of her adolescence and young-adulthood (portrayed in flashback by Stacy Martin). Part One also stars Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Connie Nielsen and Udo Kier. Part Two continues with the story of Joe’s adulthood, and stars Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth and Jean-Marc Barr in addition to Gainsbourg, Skarsgård, Martin and LaBeouf.

Nymphomaniac: Part One and Nymphomaniac: Part Two are von Trier's follow-up to his acclaimed Melancholia, which had its U.S. Premiere at the 2011 New York Film Festival. Previous films include Antichrist (2009 NYFF), Dogville (2003 NYFF) and Dancer in the Dark, which opened the 2000 New York Film Festival.

Magnolia Pictures will release both Nymphomaniac films Stateside. They will have their World Premieres in Copenhagen Christmas day.
