Ang Lee's Life of Pi (50th NYFF, Opening Night)

Opening Night of the 50th New York Film Festival is only two days away!

The latest from Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee, Life of Piwill kick off the Golden Anniversary of NYFF on Friday night (tickets recently released!), but earlier that day we've got something exciting to share. Thanks to our new Youtube Live channel, we'll be streaming the press conference with Lee and author Yann Martel, moderated by Film Society & NYFF Program Director Richard Peña, live at noon from the Walter Reade Theater!

Life of Pi is based on Martel's Man Booker Prize-winning novel and follows a young Indian boy who, after a shipwreck, spends the better part of a year on a lifeboat with the only other survivor: a Bengal tiger. This World Premiere from 20th Century Fox is also the first 3D film to open the festival, and Lee's signature stunning visuals, epic storytelling, and groundbreaking CGI effects are sure to make a splash come awards season.

Stay tuned for announcements about more exciting NYFF Live events that will let you take in the excitement of the 50th New York Film Festival no matter where in the world you are!
