Thanks to you, 2011 has been a year of momentous and exciting growth at the Film Society.

As we close our fiscal year-end books on December 31, we ask you to consider supporting the Film Society by making a gift today.

Some of this year’s highlights include the sold-out Chaplin Award Gala honoring Sidney Poitier in May, the opening of the splendid new Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center in June, the 49th New York Film Festival just last month, and the new Family Films Series. All of this is in addition to the thousands of film screenings we are now able to present in our multiple venues annually.

Planning for 2012 is already underway. Being able to meet our 2011 goal will only make 2012 an even bigger year. Our ambitious plans for next year include a dynamic multi-faceted Education Series, an expanded Family Films series, and a true “once in a lifetime” occasion – The 50th Anniversary of the New York Film Festival.

Achieving such goals requires dedication from our staff and the Board of Trustees, and the necessary funding that comes primarily from the generous support of our members and patrons. Box office receipts and other earned income cover less than half of what it costs to fulfill our programming mission. Your contribution will help us make 2012 better than ever.

All contributions are tax-deductible, and any amount you’re able to give will make a significant difference toward our 2011 goal. Please click here to make a gift today.

Thank you for your continued support of the Film Society.  We look forward to seeing you in our theaters during the holidays and in the year ahead.
