Opening Night of the 51st New York Film Festival is only a week away! One week. Seven days. We're feeling excited, maybe a little anxious, and suddenly generous. So we figure it's time to bring back our popular NYFF trailer contest!
For those who didn't participate last year, the rules are (pretty) simple. Watch our NYFF51 trailer. Then watch it again. Then watch it a few dozen more times. As you go, make a list of the films the clips come from, in order. The person who gets the most right wins!
Let's head off some questions. All the clips are from films in the NYFF51 Official Selection. Every film is represented—many more than once. In a new twist, this year there are also audio clips from several films included in the trailer. We'll treat these as a tie-breaker, so make sure to list those too. If more than one person guesses the same (highest) number of video and audio clips, we'll settle it the old-fashioned way: random drawing.
The prizes remain the same and, in our opinion, they're pretty great. The winner gets a pair of tickets to our Closing Night screening of Spike Jonze's Her, a copy of this year's poster and New York Film Festival Gold coffee table book, and an NYFF51 bag stuffed with festival swag!
