Throughout the year, we present screenings and events exclusively for our Members and Patrons here at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. This month has already been packed with special opportunities.

Almost two years after her documentary 13th opened the 54th New York Film Festival, Ava DuVernay returned to the Film Society for a special sneak preview of her epic adaptation of Madeleine L‘Engle’s fantasy A Wrinkle in Time, ahead of its wide release this Friday. At Alice Tully Hall, the Film Society hosted the lavish, star-studded U.S. premiere of Francis Lawrence’s espionage thriller Red Sparrow, featuring Jennifer Lawrence, Joel Edgerton, and Mary-Louise Parker.

We also teamed with Vulture and Focus Features for a sneak preview of the stylish thriller Thoroughbreds, written and directed by Cory Finley. Along with the director, stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Olivia Cooke appeared in person to discuss forming their characters, bringing to life the film’s distinct dialogue, and their fond memories of their costar, the late Anton Yelchin.

On Oscar Sunday, critics from the Village Voice—Bilge Ebiri, Ren Jender, Alan Scherstuhl, Lara Zarum, and Kyle Turner—joined us to discuss the year in film, followed by a reception and viewing party.
