Our photo updates from the 55th New York Film Festival wind down with Mathieu Amalric, who brought three music films to the festival: C’est presque au bout du monde, Zorn (2010-2017), and Music Is Music; Barbet Schroeder, who presented The Venerable W.; and StĂ©phane de Freitas’s Speak Up, which proves how the art of speech is key to universal understanding, social ascension, and personal revelation.

We also have a collection of images from our NYFF Live talks, including Film Comment Live’s Festival wrap, featuring Nellie Killian, Aliza Ma; Michael Koresky, Wesley Morris, and Violet Lucca, as well as a WGAE talk with Emily Gordon (The Big Sick) and Michael Koskoff (Marshall). Laurie Anderson, Laura Michalchyshyn, and Tanya Selvaratnam also launched The Federation (with a surprise musical performance!) and, wrapping up NYFF LIVE, there was an Access New Audiences panel—featuring Wonderstruck and The Blind Boys of Alabama—which showed how filmmakers and distributors can increase audience outreach and box office by incorporating accessible language components for both deaf and blind communities.

Check out all these photos and more in the slideshow above and make sure to follow us on Instagram (@TheNYFF + @FilmLinc) for a behind-the-scenes look at the festival!
