Richard Ayoade’s The Double starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mia Wasikowska, Chris O’Dowd, and Sally Hawkins opens in limited release on Friday. In their review, Film Comment says: “Like a lucid nightmare on the subway at odd hours, The Double leaves one feeling intellectually stimulated, creatively charged, and close to existential panic.”

The film, based on a novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky, had its New York Premiere at New Directors/New Films back in March and Ayoade stopped by for a lively Q&A. If you missed it, here’s video of Ayoade discussing the challenges of casting Eisenberg in two roles, the film’s score, and even a bit about his role in the cult British sitcom The IT Crowd.
