Film Society of Lincoln Center has just released the winter schedule for our ongoing Family Films program. The new theme, “Fantastic Voyage,” includes some of the most imaginative films since the beginning of cinema. The Disney classic Mary Poppins kicks off the season’s slate and is followed by landmark films such as Ray Harryhausen’s groundbreaking The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts; Terry Gilliam’s quirky Time Bandits; a restored print of Bedknobs and Broomsticks; and many others. There will also be special screenings of Georges Méliès’s inventive and influential short films, including A Trip to the Moon, which has captivated the imagination of audiences for over a hundred years and should be familiar to anyone who has seen Martin Scorsese’s Hugo. Tickets are just $6 and the experiences are priceless!
