The 48th edition of New Directors/New Films runs March 27th through April 7th, introducing New York audiences to the work of emerging filmmakers from around the world.

This year’s Opening Night selection was Chinonye Chukwu’s Clemency, winner of the Grand Jury Prize in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film is an enthralling drama anchored by a powerhouse performance from the great Alfre Woodard as a prison warden struggling with the morality of capital punishment after years of working on death row.

Chukwu joined us for a Q&A after the screening. Listen below or click here to subscribe and listen on iTunes.
