“A single photograph can be the reason for an entire film. A film begins from a single photograph.”–Abbas Kiarostami

The final film from Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, 24 Frames is a wordless series of sketches elaborating on his lifelong fascination with photography. In his poignant swan song, the late master evokes the moments before and after a still image has been captured, and explores the thin line between natural and artificial beauty.

24 Frames opens exclusively at the Film Society of Lincoln Center this Friday, February 2, and we’re thrilled to premiere the trailer, courtesy of Janus Films (see above). Reserve tickets and get showtimes here. Limited seats left for the 6:15pm show this Friday, featuring a Q&A with producer Ahmad Kiarostami and critic Godfrey Cheshire!
